At lunch Seaford had led 3-1 from the morning foursomes but Sweetwoods took 51/2 points from the afternoon singles to earn a home quarter-final tie against Copthorne.

East Sussex National were 7-5 winners at West Hove and will entertain Lewes, 91/2-21/2 home winners over Singing Hills, in the last eight.

Crowborough's Graham Smith scored a hole in one at the 192-yard sixth when the ball went straight in without touching the green in the Beacon's 101/2-11/2 home win against Holtye.
