SHARON ON ROAD TO FAME?
EAST PRESTON kart racer Sharon Evans is set to make a move in her racing class. She has applied to join Formula Woman, the UK's first-ever series for women drivers.
Evans, a 30-year-old bakery worker, was one of the first applications received by the Lincolnshire organisers. She has six years' experience in kart racing and has competed at Thruxton, Buckmore Park, Spa in Belgium and Le Mans.
Last June, Evans '“ along with five others '“ was in the team which won the Le Mans 24-hour kart race and was the only girl.
She currently races with Club 100, an arrive-and-drive outfit.
