Shaz sees red in Shoreham's defeat

SHOREHAM Football Club will be casting an eye over their shoulder after their winless run extended to eight games on Saturday. Mussels are just three points above third-bottom Redhill and will now be without six-goal striker Shaheen Sadough for at least three games after he was red-carded late on.

The opening exchanges were dominated by Shoreham, who took the lead after just five minutes. Hassocks' defender Marsh pushed Sadough in the back and Mussels were awarded a free kick 20 yards out.

Chris Hibberd's effort went straight to Hassocks keeper Joel Harding, who tried to turn the ball over the bar but succeeded in only pushing it into his own goal. Hibberd looked as surprised as the rest of the ground that his kick found its way in for his fourth goal of the season.

Six minutes later, Mussels almost doubled their lead. Sadough's mis-hit shot went across the penalty area and Harding made up for his early mistake by bravely saving at Owen Callaghan's feet.
