Short joins Waller at Littlehampton

FORMER Arundel Football Club manager Vic Short has joined Littlehampton as assistant to boss Trevor Waller.

Short will be assistant-manager along with Scott Farrell and Mark Chaplin will be the first-team coach.

Waller said: "I played football with Vic at Rustington, he gets on well with Scott and Mark and he knows a lot of players. He's going to be a good signing for us."

Short added: "Trevor's so enthusiastic and a good friend. I'm looking forward to working with him.

"It will be nice to take a breather from managing but I'm going to help Trevor as much as I can because he's given me the opportunity to stay in football.

"Hopefully, we'll put a decent side together and play some decent football next season."

Leaving Golds is coach Kev Why, who is moving away from the area. Waller said: "I'd like to thank Kev for all his help. He's a great guy and I wish him and his family all the best."

Golds have also confirmed they will run a Reserves side next season. Stuart Smith, the successful AC Azzurri manager in the Worthing & Horsham Sunday League, will be their manager.

Littlehampton start pre-season training on Friday, June 29, at The Sportsfield at 7pm. Anyone interested can contact Trevor Waller on 07778 015682.
