Sidley drop first points of season

SIDLEY United dropped their first points of the Sussex Division One season when they were held to a 1-1 draw away to Shoreham on Saturday.

The home side took the lead after only six minutes when the otherwise outstanding Chris Copley headed a corner into his own net.

The Blues gradually began to find their true form and four minutes before half time a flowing move ended with Kevin Rose executing an exquisite chip for the equaliser.

Sidley looked a better side in the second half and Shae Spreafico and John Carey both went close before Carey cleared off his own line in the last minute.

Bexhill United slumped to a crushing 7-0 defeat away to Forest in Division Three.
