SIDLEY HOPE TO BREAK THEIR DUCK

SIDLEY will be looking to claim their first win of the Sussex League season when they make a belated appearance at Gullivers on Saturday (June 1).

Although the cricket season is entering its fifth week, this will be Sidley's first home match following a run of three away fixtures and a free weekend.

Stirlands are the visitors and like their hosts, they too have struggled to find their form of last term.

Sidley skipper Peter King believes his team is on the verge of turning the corner. "We started last season very badly and confidence was low but we got an amazing result at St James and our season took off," he said.

"Our performances haven't been as bad as the results suggest, we're just falling about 20 or 30 runs too short."

Tyrone Wildman returns to the line-up and King may be fit enough to bowl again.
