Sidley re-elected to Sussex Cricket League

SIDLEY Cricket Club will remain in the Sussex League for their centenary season next year.

The Gullivers side was re-elected after comfortably securing the backing of the required third of the member clubs at the league's AGM on Tuesday night.

In fact, Sidley were on the right end of a 15-5 vote against East Sussex League champions Glynde & Beddingham.

Glynde had earlier won a preliminary vote 13-7 against Sussex Invitation League winners Billingshurst.

Sidley, who have arranged their AGM for Monday January 16, were forced to re-apply for their position after finishing bottom of Division Two during the 2005 campaign.
