Sidley rediscover scoring touch

SIDLEY United marked a return to form with a magnificent 5-0 thrashing of Arundel on Saturday.

Two goals from Peter Baker and Graham Morris and a strike from player manager Peter Heritage sent a timely reminder to the rest of the Sussex top flight that Sidley are still a class act.

Top scorer Baker was determined to end a rare dry spell and caused no end of problems to the Arundel defence.

He got his reward just past the half hour mark when excellent work by Paul Balch and Adam Day saw the ball knocked out to Baker on the left and he rifled it home from eight yards.

His second came in first half stoppage time when he broke through a confused melee and steered his shot around the keeper.

The blues continued to dominate in the second period and substitute Heritage added his name to the score-sheet after breaking the frustrating offside trap.

Morris then scored an almost identical fourth and he made it 5-0 from the penalty spot after Owen Ball was brought down in the area.
