Sidley win cricket cup

SIDLEY won the Rush, Witt & Wilson Cup in style with an impressive win over Clive Vale at Horntye Park.

Sidley only needed 16 of their allotted 20 overs to overhaul the 124-5 total posted by their opponents thanks to a superb performance by man of the match Pat Grace (53 not out).

Sidley were rarely troubled when in bat with a knock of 128-2 as Jonathan Haffenden (39), Steve Ramsden (16) and, in particular, Grace chipped away at the target. Chris Deeprose rounded things off by smashing two fours.

T. Corns (1-31) and Steve Brook (1-27) were the only wicket-takers for Vale.
