Six-a-side tournament a super success

LITTLE Common Football Club held its annual six-a-side tournament in glorious sunshine over the weekend.

900 players, ranging from under-9s to under-14s, from throughout the region took part in the two-day competition.

Eastbourne-based Old Town Boys was the most succesful club, winning three of the age groups. The hosts provided semi-finalists in four of the six age groups, but only the under-10s reached the final where they lost out on penalties to Lewes Bridgeview.

Tournament organiser Daniel Eldridge commented: "An enjoyable two days of competition was had by all and the weather was obviously a huge bonus. From an organisational point of view, everything ran very smoothly and this is very much down to the hard work of all the committee members, referees and parent helpers who gave up their time."
