Speedway sensation makes roaring debut

BEXHILL-based speedway sensation Lewis Bridger made a blistering start to his career with a maximum 15 point haul on his debut meeting for the Weymouth Wildcats.

The 15-year-old, on board the old jawa bike of former Eastbourne Eagles ace Jonas Kymalkorpi, was the only Weymouth rider to finish unbeaten in the 56-37 victory over the touring American Dream Team.

The pick of his wins came in heat two when, starting from 15 metres back having hit the start tapes, Lewis blitzed his way through the field.

Lewis was then involved in two 5-0 heat whitewashes before sealing the overall win with a 5-1 triumph towards the end.
