Andrews progress rewarded as he signs a new Eagles deal

Highly-rated speedway rider Richie Andrews is now a full asset of the Eastbourne IT First Eagles.

Club chairman Martin Dugard announced this afternoon that Andrews had been signed from the BSPA.

He said, “Richie has made fantastic progress this year and shows great form home and away. As well as his points, he is real joy to work with and a huge part of our team.

“We started the year with a blank piece of paper when it came to assets but were determined to build up the club’s strength.”

Andrews was originally on the books of Newport, where he began his career in 2009, but when that club folded his registration went to the BSPA.

Eastbourne completed the signing from the BSPA today.

IT First Eagles assets are Bradley Wilson-Dean, Georgie Wood, Kelsey Dugard, Richie Andrews and Charley Powell.

A new date for the KO Cup quarter final, second leg, against Birmingham, which was rained off on Sunday, is expected shortly.

Fourth placed Birmingham join Eagles on 10 points having completed just three meets. Stoke prop up the table with zero points from their four starts. Next up the Eagles is a home clash against second from bottom Rye House on Sunday, June 7, tapes up 3.30pm.
