St Richard's cup run comes to an end

ST RICHARD'S Catholic College valiantly exited a nationwide girls' football competition on Wednesday, last week.

The Ashdown Road school was edged out 4-2 by Helenswood School in the fourth round of the National Under-15s Cup.

St Richard's started well away to the Hastings-based all girls' school, but found themselves two goals down at half time.

They came out strongly for the second half and clawed their way back to level terms only to concede twice more in the latter stages of a match which was played in a sporting atmosphere and was a great advert for girls' football.

St Richard's progressed to that stage on the back of victories against St Edmund's Catholic School and Pent Valley Technology College.
