The 14-year-old from Bexhill won the Under 25s Singles Championship at the Home Counties Bowls Association finals’ day 2015.

The event was played at South Oxford Bowls Club on Sunday and was the next stage from Morphett’s victory in the county under-25 competition earlier this summer.

Morphett, incidentally, became the youngest ever county under-25 singles champion as he was just 13 at the time of his triumph.

After a bye in the quarter-finals, the Spartan Bowls Club talent defeated Matt Rich, from Kent, 21-15 in the semi- finals and then saw off Sam Watts, from Oxfordshire, 21-13 in the final.

A very proud dad and sister were in attendance, and mum was at home with the dog waiting for information!

Founded in 1970, the Home Counties Bowls Association comprises the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Kent, Middlesex, Oxfordshire, Surrey and Sussex.

The previous weekend, Morphett won the county under-18 mixed singles title at Peacehaven BC and retained the mutual pairs crown at the Spartan club finals with dad Rob.

The Bexhill Academy pupil won the national under-15 indoor singles title earlier this year and armed with new bowls, is looking forward to the start of the new indoor season next week.
