STEYNING MAKE IT A DOUBLE

A STUNNING fifth-wicket partnership between Greg Barnes and Andy Ridley grabbed their second successive Sussex Premier League victory on Saturday, when Haywards Heath succumbed at the Memorial Field.

Steyning, missing ankle injury victim Jamie Carpenter, got off to a shocking start in the chase for victory. Set 237 by Heath, former Sussex man Paul Havell removed both Carpenter's replacement, Ben Ferns, and Gary Hunt with out scoring leaving Dave Mates' side 13-2.

Giles Haywood continued his free-scoring start to the season, with a quick-fire 28, but Jason Krejza ended his stay at the crease when he had him caught by Heath captain Dan Hall with the score on 57.
