STEYNING OUT IN GRIPPING SEMI

STEYNING CRASHED out of the Division Three Cup last Thursday evening in a belter of a game at Hanbury Park, and with them went their hopes of a treble.

Both they and Crowborough finshed the first half with only 10 players, by which time a sharper Crows side had shocked Steyning to the core by taking a 3-0 lead.

Only a minute after Town keeper Dave Kennett had pulled off a brillant save from Ben Evans, Crows took the lead on 14 minutes with a slick finish from Tony Wright, who had cut in from the left touchline.

Four minutes on, and Crows were flying Wayne Clarke sent in a cross from the right and Rod Lewis headed home, although Kennett was static when the header was made.
