Strong results for Hastings AC athletes across track, road and park events
At the South of England U13 / U15 / U17 Championships at Crystal Palace, Elizabeth Hutchinson shone in the U15 Girls' 1500m, finishing 2nd in her heat with 4:54.64 before placing 7th in the final.
In the U17 Women’s 800m, Rosie Ferguson showed consistency with a heat time of 2:23.51 and a solid 5th place finish in the semi-final with 2:21.76.

Hide AdTom Chaffin put on a terrific display in the U17 Men’s 800m. He improved from 2:02.82 in the heats to a personal best of 2:00.71 in the semi-final before taking 6th in the final with 2:02.61.


Over at K2 Crawley for the Sussex U13 Championships, Eva Harwood impressed with a personal best 12.23 in the 75m heat and placed 5th in the 1500m final with another PB of 5:30.03.
At the Sussex Steeplechase Championships and Open Meet, Evelyn Moynihan took 4th in the U20M 2000m Steeplechase with 7:03.97.
In the 800m heats on the same day, Lucienne Simkiss-Day clocked 2:28.49, Elizabeth Hutchinson continued her strong form with 2:20.36, Rosie Ferguson finished in 2:22.73 and Tom Chaffin added another solid performance with 2:06.07.

Hide AdAt the Tonbridge Open Meeting, Elizabeth Hutchinson capped off her busy week by winning the 1500m (Race 5) in a personal best of 4:47.74.


In the Rye Summer Series 10k, Jack Mabon continued his strong season with 13th place in 41:40.
Parkrun performances were equally impressive.
At Hastings Parkrun on 31 May, Mary Sanderson was 80th overall and 2nd F55 with 23:28. A week later, Rhys Boorman stormed to 1st place in 16:41.
At Bedgebury Pinetum Parkrun on 7 June, Grace Baker was the first female in 18:58, while Gary Chatham placed 11th (2nd M35) and Lucy Chatham finished 36th (2nd F35).

Adding to the mix of impressive efforts, Jesse Deeble took part in the Endure24 Mini Mile with great spirit and determination; Trevor Deeble tackled the endurance challenge of Endure24, proving his stamina over a grueling test of physical and mental resolve and Toni-Jayde ran the 3K Race for Life in Hastings, raising awareness and showing support through an inspiring performance.
