Sussex CCC to play Australia at Hove

SUSSEX CCC has announced that the Club will be hosting a training session open to schools and cricket clubs on the afternoon of Tuesday June 23,ahead of the Sussex versus Australia clash, which will run from Wednesday June 24 to Saturday June 27 at The County Ground, Hove.

Australia will be visiting Hove for the first match of the eagerly anticipated 2009 Ashes series and have agreed to an open training session for local schools and clubs to witness the most successful cricketing country of the decade train in a very special one-off opportunity.

Gates will open to schools and clubs at 1.30pm, with the session closing at 3.30pm. There will be opportunity to watch the stars and to see how the professionals train.

Mark Robinson, Professional Cricket Manager, said: "This is a unique opportunity for young aspiring cricketers to see some of the greatest players in the world train. We can all see the Australians play on television, but it is very rare that an opportunity like this arises. It promises to be a wonderful day ahead of a huge week of cricket."

Please note that although it is FREE to watch you have to book your school or club in advance. The offer is only available to schools and cricket club's colts sections and not to the general public.
