SWIMMING STARS OF FUTURE

LITTLEHAMPTON Swimming Club is on a high, and heading for the top.

The club has been promoted to Division One in the county league and '“ for the first time in the club's 22-year history '“ has produced a national qualifier swimmer this season '“ Tya Allum (14).

In addition, at the club championships, six records, which had been established ten years ago, were broken this year.

At the county championships, the club had 140 entries, of which 109 were swum in personal best times. They achieved 14 first places and produced two county champions in Rob Hunter and Georgia Churchill-Wright.

Four swimmers gained places in the county development squad '“ Alex Bryant, Georgia Churchill-Wright, Jessica Frayne and Rob Hunter.

At the Regional Championships, 57 entries were accepted from a total of 13 club swimmers, while last year only one swimmer was accepted.

William Condron qualified to swim in all of the finals for his age group coming second in the 200m breastroke, missing out on a national qualifying time by just one second.
