The Bishop Luffa School student, 18, was seeded second for the event and duly made her way through group and knockout stages, completing her path to the final by beating third seed Emily Bolton 3-1 (11-6, 7-11, 11-8, 12-10) in the last four.

But she found top seed Eva Wang in top form in the final, as she went down 3-0 (6-11, 4-11, 3-11).

Peake said: “It was good to beat Emily (in the semi-finals) – we always have a bit of a bish-bosh and it was good to get through that. Eva is a top quality player and played really well, she deserved to win.”
