TABLE TENNIS: Swedish duo help Horsham to top of British League

Peter Bartram won 8/8, and Swedish junior No.8 Emil Ohlsson made a fantastic debut by winning 7/8.

This was despite going down with a fever on Sunday - he still played and won all his games on the day.

Another Swedish star, Fredrik Nilsson won 3/4. Nilsson is well known in the area after living in England for several years and Ohlsson flew over with him from Malmo in Sweden to play the matches.

Locally based Dan Barna won 4/8 including a brilliant victory against the leading player in the division, Cornwall’s England No.30 Darren Reed.

Mayur Majithia had a perfect 4/4 record on Saturday, playing in the top of the table clash against joint leaders Team Cornwall which Horsham won 6-2.

Horsham beat Ashford 8-0, Mossford from Essex 6-2 and Morpeth 6-2.

Junior Harry Collins won 2/4 for Horsham II in Senior British League Division 3.

Horsham Spinners are joint top of Division 4 South & East. They gained four victories over the weekend, beating Kingfisher 5-3, Rowhedge 7-1, Greenhouse III 6-2 and London Academy III 7-1. John Robinson and Dan Pound were topscorers with 7/8 while Dan Pound won 6/8 and Steve Pound won 5/8.
