Lancers were denied victory five minutes from time on Saturday, when Burns effort went in off defender Ollie Howcroft to give East Grinstead a 2-2 draw at Culver Road, writes Richard Amey.

Punished then was Lancing s failure to look after the ball in the closing stages. Taken to task in the 52nd minute was their aerial vulnerablilty at set-pieces, which resulted in Bradshaw s equalising free header at a corner.

Lancing had twice led. Steve Gurney swept home young Ryan Ford s cross just on half-time, then Ben Cullen played in Jamie Cole, whose fine finish took a slight deflection.

Cole and Cullen both hit a Grinstead post.

Keepers Kerry Haring (ill), James Everett and James Latter (unavailable) were all out of Monday s equation for Storrington.
