Tennis star Lee announces his retirement

ANGMERING-linked tennis star Martin Lee has quit professional tennis following a string of injuries.

Lee, the son of Angmering Tennis Club head coach, Brian, reached a career-high world ranking of 94 in March 2002 but three operations on knee and groin injuries kept him out of the game for long periods in recent years.

This year, Lee, 28, who was ranked 284 in the world, made the second round at Wimbledon but said: "I've always felt that if I ever stopped enjoying playing tennis, then it would be time to stop."
