Terence scoops top polo trophy

A TALENTED young polo player has scooped the coveted Daily Telegraph's trophy for the most promising polo player under 14.

Terence Lent (12) won the award when competing in the recent annual Pony Club Polo Championships at Cowdray Park.

At the event 16 teams battled it out in the Under 15's section, known as Surtees.

Local pony club, Old Surrey and Burstow finished with three teams placed in the top half of the country's best players.

Terence, who has been playing polo for just three years, was also selected to represent Young England in the Stagshead Trophy.

Terence, of Crawley Down, is highly regarded as one of the most talented young polo players in West Sussex.
