Third time lucky for Old Centmodians

OLD Centmodians finally got their hands on some silverware with a thrilling 4-3 win over JC Tackleway in the Hastings FA Junior Cup Final.

After losing out in two East Sussex Football League finals in the previous week Old Centmodians showed great character to come through in extra time after trailing 3-0 at the interval in normal time.

On target at the Pilot Field were Neil Smith (3) and Andy Maplesden, while Sam Adams (2) and Darren Payne scored for the Old Towners.

But the team of the East Sussex Football League season had to be Hollington United who took their tally of trophies to an amazing four.

The league champions completed their haul by beating Old Centmodians 3-0 in the Robertsbridge Charity Intermediate Cup Final with goals from Darren Goodridge, Billy Warnes and Mark Coggan.

Hollington had previously lifted the Blacklands Finance Challenge Cup and the Hastings FA Intermediate Cup.
