Thomas, 14, who attends The Littlehampton Academy, was handed his first-ever taste of racing at Hampshire’s Thruxton track.

Inevitably he found the first qualifying round tricky as he managed to qualify in ninth spot with one session left.

The following day, Thomas recorded another track best before gaining a place to move up on the grid ahead of his first race.

Thomas did not leave anything to chance on his maiden Thruxton race and gained four positions after turn one.

It only took a couple more laps for Thomas to be up challenging for a place but in the end he was forced to settle for a sixth-placed finish.

Less than 24 hours later, Littlehampton racing talent Thomas took to Thruxton’s course for the final time.

He was rewarded with a seventh-placed start in his second and final race with a good start seeing him move up the grid.

Despite making some good passes, the Littlehampton racer was forced to settle for his starting grid position by the end.

Following his efforts, Thomas collected another 19 points towards his championship tally but that was not enough to prevent him falling to eighth in the overall standings.

The Littlehampton racer now makes the trip to Kent’s Brands Hatch course next weekend looking to move up the standings.
