Thunder fans follow team overnight

Worthing Thunder basketball fans joining their team on an overnight trip to the National Trophy Final at Newcastle Arena at the weekend.

It will be the first time that they have needed to do this to follow Worthing basketball in a major final and the reason is the Radio Metro Arena was chosen by the organising British Basketball League, whose own Trophy is the main event. Thunder are to meet Reading Rockets and should Thunder reach the Play-offs Final that will be at the same venue on April 29.

The overnight stay for the Trophy Final will be on Saturday, March 3, at 27 per head, to include breakfast at an hotel with a swimming pool and gymnasium. Call 01903 507889.

A luxury coach will do the journey, leaving on the Saturday at 11.30am (an hour later than previously scheduled) with the team and returning on the Sunday. Coach travel tickets are 35 for Supporters Club members and 45 for non-members. Arena tickets are 20 adult and 15 child.

Supporters Club membership, incidentally, is 6 adults, 4 juniors.
