THUNDER TAKE WESTMINSTER APART

IT NEEDED a big third quarter from Worthing Thunder to pull away finally from their Division Two opponents in Saturday evening's National Cup group game at Durrington.

Jamal Johnson led the charge with 16 third-quarter points to cap a fine individual performance and suggest that Worthing may have found another talented scorer.

At half-time the score was close, with just three points separating the teams. Then Thunder exerted their superiority and increased the intensity on defence.

While Johnson proved dangerous under the basket, where Westminster just could not stop him,

Gaylon Moore was competing superbly for offensive rebounds. With the score 69-51 at the end of the third quarter, Thunder had finally pulled away.
