Time to stat preparing for Chichester Priory 10k

The 2012 Chichester Priory 10k is only two months away.

It takes place on Sunday, February 5, organised by the Rotary Club of Chichester Priory, who believe it will prove as popular as ever.

It is popular with people of all abilities who come from all over the UK. It is hoped many faithful supporters will return as well as new entrants so the race limit of 1,800 will be reached.

If you’re running for the first time or returning to sport after a lengthy absence, organisers are offering a support programme.

Session one will be on Sunday, December 18, when they aim to establish a training programme for the Christmas period. This will be followed by coaching sessions for beginners every Sunday in January.

Each session will last up to 90 minutes at Westgate Leisure in Chichester starting at 10am. The session will be led by a sports science student from the University of Chichester.

Each session will include advice on relevant items important on running a race including shoes, clothing, exercise, diet, race preparation and pre-race briefing, followed by a short run with the distance increasing each week.
