With all the recent rain, conditions under foot were extremely challenging with the runners having to cope with a lot of mud on the off-road races.

Thirteen runners took part in the Chilly Hilly 10k race at Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield. It certainly lived up to its name with almost 1,000ft of hills.

First home for the club was Andy Mair who, despite feeling unwell, recorded a credible time of 55min 25sec.

Four Tone Zone runners travelled to Kent to take part in the Chocathon race. They all completed 13.1 miles and picked up a goody bag at the finish which contained 1kg of chocolate.

Paul Coe and Simon Bodsworth each competed in their first marathon of the year, the Dark Star event in Shoreham.

Again, conditions were very muddy and difficult – but both men completed the course in competitive times.
