Tough trip for Bexhill

IN-FORM BEXHILL travel to promotion favourites East Grinstead on Saturday May 25.

East Grinstead top the Sussex Second Division and are hopeful of an immediate return to the Premier League following their relegation last season.

Bexhill have also started well and are only two places behind, largely due to the efforts of Australian skipper Sam Roberts who hit an undefeated 109 in the previous week's win over Stirlands.

He said: "I was rapt at hitting a century, I thought I batted well when the team needed it for a victory.

"Realistically I think I can get two or three more of them this year, but if anything I came here more as a bowler - that's my real strength."

Ben Ridgeway, Rakesh Patel, Alan Cowley, Jason Wickenden and Tom Lewis are all in contention to make the squad.

Neighbours Sidley desperately need to pick up some points following a poor start to the season.

Rooted to the foot of the table, Peter King's side will be looking for a decent showing away to Roffey.
