Tournament raises thousands for trust

WORTHING Golf Club's annual charity Am-Am attracted 160 golfers.Along with sponsorship, advertising and a raffle, a total of Â£8,400 was raised for The Mary How Trust.

The charity, which is based in Pulborough, provides free screenings for a number of serious illnesses.

Forty teams of four took part in the tournament, with the best two scores to count.

The winning team, from Goring Hall Hospital, scored 122 on the lower course and 114 on the upper course, for a total of 236.

They comprised Tom Liston, Peter Goldsworthy, Nigel Paget and Steve McKinnon, and were presented with their trophy by Worthing club captain Alan Marsh.
