Town end wait for cup win

STEYNING TOWN Football Club have little time to celebrate their first cup victory since November 2003.

They play their Division 2 Cup second round tie at Mile Oak on Saturday, just seven days after coming from a goal down to beat Broadbridge Heath in the first round.

It was their first cup success in 19 attempts with 18 of the matches ending in defeat. The other game, a John O'Hara Cup first-round tie with Ringmer in October 2004, finished 1-1.

The statistics do not make good reading for Town. In those 19 games, they conceded 70 goals and scored only 14.
