Trampolinists reach new heights at West Sussex schools event

The Regis School hosted the Bognor and Chichester area trampolining competition.

The event was organised by the West Sussex West school sport partnership and enabled youngsters to test themselves on Olympic-height trampolining facilities.

The high standard of the 70 or so 11 to 16-year-olds taking part made a fantastic spectacle.

Schools taking part included The Regis School, Felpham CC, Manhood CC and Chichester High School for Girls.

An extremely-impressive team performance from The Regis School meant they achieved first place in all three age categories.

In addition to dominating the team field, they also had the highest individual performers in all three categories.

The exceptional individual scorers were Jemma Capper, who won the Year 7 individual, Year 8/9 individual winner James Smith and Mercedes Hulburd in the Year 10/11 mixed group.

Regis School PE teacher Connie Chapman said: “They were well-deserved winners. They gave up a lot of time to practise and it paid off with brilliant performances on the day.”
