TROT help for off-road routes

ANY West Sussex riders or carriage drivers wanting information about safe off-road routes should contact TROT '“ The Toll Rides (Off-Road) Trust.

It was established in 1990 by a group of riders who had few safe off-road rides and were concerned at the growing amount of traffic on their local roads. Their approach to local farmers led to the first Toll Ride being opened on agreed tracks and headlands.

In just a few years, dozens of networks of toll rides, connecting to local public bridle paths and byways were initially opened in the South-East.

In late 2005, Defra awarded TROT a grant for its development and expansion project. As a result of this funding TROT has been able to improve existing ride/carriage driving networks and continue to expand the scheme by opening up even more routes.
