Two convincing wins for teams from The Green

Last Saturday The Green's men's fifth team entertained the Cooden third team in their last Division 10 match of the Sussex Summer Tennis League.

Both home pairings of Dave Carey-Stuart with Ed Money and Ian Farrer with Mike Sarna comfortably won each of their two rubbers in two sets, so making the result a 4-0 triumph for The Green.

This meant a finishing position of fourth in the division whilst The Green's fourth team, playing in the same division, ended as runners-up.

On Sunday The Green's first mixed team hosted the Amherst second team in a Division 1 match of the Wealden Tennis League.

Chris Grief/Amanda Ruck easily defeated both Amherst pairs of Jane Garrett/Jeff Gedge and Pearl Hare/Steve Kirby; George Moon/Beaula Page comfortably beat Pearl/Steve but only won 6-3, 7-5 against Jane/Jeff. Therefore a 4-0 victory was achieved by The Green.
