Unbeaten H&B in shield action

HASTINGS & Bexhill turn their attention to the Sussex Intermediate Rugby Shield when they travel to Pulborough in the first round on Saturday November 9.

Jimmy Nicholls is back in the front row after suffering concussion and John Fairey is set to start as H&B look to extend their unbeaten start to the season.

Assistant coach Rob Hamilton said: "It will be a difficult game and in the past we have not done too well against them because it is quite a long trip to make. But if we continue the form we have shown this season, I don't see any problems against them."

H&B remain second in Sussex Division One after being held to an 8-8 draw at home to leaders Uckfield. A Paul Sandeman penalty and Andy Hitch try put H&B 8-0 up at half time before the visitors hit back to earn a share of the spoils.
