VIDEO: Goodwood bosses already looking forward to 2015

ONE Goodwood season has just finished – but racecourse bosses are already working to try to make the next one every bit as memorable.

As managing director Adam Waterworth and clerk of the course Seamus Buckley finished reflecting on the highlights of 2014, they were eager to talk about how they intended to build on this year’s strong points in 2015.

The fixture list again gives them 19 meetings, between May 2 and October 11, and all their feature meetings and festivals will run as they did in 2014.

But one big bonus is their August bank holiday featival won’t clash in 2015 with York’s Ebor meeting, which in recent times has hit Goodwood’s line-up of horses, jockeys and trainers on Celebration Mile Saturday.

Courses bosses have also spoken of their wish for a ‘proper’ winter after last year’s mild period left their racing surface vulnerable to grass-eating bugs.
