The victory was all the more impressive from the Angmering man as he has missed a large chunk of this season through injury.

His triumph was just the second Great British ranking win he has secured throughout 2015.

Vincent took a well deserved top spot following four ippon victories on his way to the title.

The Angmering talent saw off Ross Scott in the final two and took gold.

Vincent was pleased to come out on top and said: “‘It has been a tough summer missing three ranking events and the GB Open but it was good to be back competing.

“I have another GB ranking event before I start my push towards the Belgian National Championships and the Belgian League

“It is difficult competing in both the Belgian and GB ranking events and also in other international events so I have to choose them carefully.

“It is important to get as much varied international experience as possible so I am competing less and less in the UK.”

A busy schedule will see Peter compete in another eight events this year including both the British and Belgian Nationals if he does well enough in the qualifying events.

He added: “It has been a good year so far and I hope to gain a lot more experience in the coming events.

“This will be important for me as I move up into European cup and higher level events in the upcoming years.”
