Visionary approach to riding impresses

A VISIONARY approach to teaching riding to children has led to Amanda Haines being relocated from Berkshire to West Sussex by the parents of one of her young pupils.

Charles and Dorothee Pardue were so impressed by the outstanding results she achieved with their son Frederick (six) and other youngsters in Berkshire that when they relocated to West Sussex area, they wanted her to come with them.

"I didn't have much money, having separated from my husband and was living in shared accommodation, but they generously offered me a ten-year scheme to enable me to move," explained Amanda.

Charles Pardue relocated his polo string from Berkshire to Burningfold Polo Centre, on the West Sussex border near Dunsfold, where facilities were found for Amanda to teach and stable her horses.

Amanda had been teaching riding for many years, both in riding schools and freelance. Several years ago she decided not to teach in riding schools but to concentrate on developing riders on a one-to-one basis or in joint lessons but not in large groups.

"I decided that I would not teach people for the sake of earning a living and wanted instead to give individual attention that achieves far better results.
