Weald whitewashfinish makes them the topSussex team

The Weald ladies 1st team completed their National League Division South East South season in glorious style with a whitewash win at Hampden Park. That secured them fourth place, making them the top Sussex team.

Against fifth placed Park, Weald had to work hard for their superb win, which included two of the four singles going to three sets and taking almost three hours.

Captain Petra Sedova capped a fine season with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Kim Reed, and Claudia James won 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 after letting a 5-0 lead slip in the final set. Despite that blow, James showed great belief in her shots to rescue the tie break.
