Weekend success for Holly and Crawley Grattons bowls team

Grattons’ ten-year-old Holly Maslen beat off all comers to win the Sussex County Ladies Junior Championship.

Grattons’ Dave Richardson played for the Sussex team in the prestigious National Liberty Inter County Championship.

Sussex won the match against Somerset by 118 to 88. Sussex are now in the semi-finals. Dave Richardson’s rink won by an impressive 23-12.

Grattons’ Ladies played Sutton and District B.A. It was rather a one-sided game with Grattons winning every rink. Grattons won the match by 110-42.

The top rink was Helen Stubbs, Maureen Symes, June Marchant and Gill Hadden. Grattons mixed team welcomed King Alfred IBC from Brighton.

King Alfred initially led but Grattons pulled back and won the game by 12 shots.

Top rink was captain Kim Robinson, Jen Hammond, Alan Harris and Tom Palmer.
