Why are making the easy things look hard?

KEEP making the hard things look easy - but stop making the easy things look hard.

That's what Bognor manager Michael Birmingham wants the Rocks to do after their latest defeat, a 3-0 loss at Eastbourne.

Borough were well worth the win secured by Scott Ramsay's double and an early Andy Atkin goal.

Boss Birmingham conceded that Eastbourne were the better side.

But Dan Beck hit the bar in the first half at 1-0, and Mark Knee was denied a clear penalty when he stumbled but didn't go down when fouled by the last defender in the box.

The defeat was Bognor's second in four days and they let in eight goals in those games '“ such a disappointment after the superb 1-0 win at Lewes.

Birmingham said: "We didn't deserve anything. Yet again we conceded an early goal, and it was uphill from there.

"What's so frustrating is that we're doing the hard things like the 50 and 60-yard passes without any trouble, but we're not doing the easy things, like basic clearances from our own box. It's really upsetting me.

"We should have had a penalty and their guy should have been sent off for it as he was the last man, but even then we don't know if we'd have got back into the game.

"The only positives were that Dorchester and Sutton also lost '“ but it comes to something when you have to rely on other teams losing to find positives for yourselves."
