WICKERS FACE THE DROP
THEY SAY that, come the end of the football season, the final table never lies. But the County League Division One and Two tables are confusing right now.
Shoreham and East Preston have already claimed their first division places for next season Saltdean and Eastbourne United make way for them but runaway champions Rye and Iden United fail to meet ground conditions for their move up.
This puts Wickers in a tricky situation. Although Rye have been banding it about that the necessary work will be completed in time for the League's Grounds Committee's final inspection during the first weekend in June, they still have much to do in order to meet that deadline.
