WORTH TRAVELLING FOR!

WICK Football Club are back into the County League top flight and one of the main reasons for this is the form of forward Danny Curd. Still just 18 years old, Curd struck 27 times. But as well as a goalscorer, every team needs a strong defence and Neil Woolmer played a huge part in Wick having the best defensive record in the division.

On the season, Curd said: "The team has done very well in gaining promotion after we came so close last season.

"We've slackened off a little bit towards the end but there has still been a good morale around the place and the team spirit has been really great.

"Personally, I've exceeded what I wanted to do. I didn't really set any targets but around 20 goals was what I was aiming for as I only scored 12 last season."
