Worthing swim squad storms Maidenhead

WORTHING swim gala squad produced a magnificent team effort and a very credible third place at the National Arena swimming league round 1 competition in Maidenhead.

Eight teams competed from the south including Brighton, Isle of Wight and Croydon. In all there are 400 teams around the country, comprising of 16000 swimmers, competing in 203 galas.

Out of the 50 events on the night, Worthing achieved 9 first,

5 second and 14 third places. All this success from the unfavoured lane 1 on the edge of the pool.

Worthing swim team are going from strength to strength.

This result following the recent success at the Sussex county relay gala where the boys relay team won both 200m events is a testiment to the dedication and hard work that each of the swimmers puts into their training.

Supported by an excellent coaching team and a new swimming complex under development the future can only be bright for swimming in Worthing.
