Young Horsham Hawks tame Cougars

The under-11 Horsham Hawks continued their unbeaten start to the season with an impressive away win against a big and well organised Cougars team.

After a close start the Hawks went on a 15-1 run to finish the first quarter, culminated with a three point basket by Josh Lea-Clayton (pictured) as time expired to give the Hawks a 19-5 advantage.

The second period saw the Hawks demonstrate some tenacious defence combined with intelligent passing and movement to go in at half time with a 31-12 lead.

The second half was much closer as the Cougars offence kicked into gear and both teams traded baskets.

The Hawks ran out 54-32 winners overall and next up it’s the Eastbourne Lions.
