Young speedway star signs to stay with Eagles

SPEEDWAY star-to-be Lewis Bridger has agreed a contract to stay at Eastbourne Eagles for the 2007 campaign.

The 17-year-old put pen to paper on a deal to remain on the Elite League club's books at the end of last week.

There is also a strong possibility that the ex-Bexhill High School student will ride in Sweden or Poland to further his speedway education. Bridger joined The Eagles from Conference Club Weymouth Wildcats after the 2005 season and is regarded as one of the sport's most promising youngsters.
