“They present Mediterraneo – An Inland Sea, a musical evening full of sunshine, sea spray and bright colours. Alessandra and Robin take us on a journey round the shores of the Mediterranean, visiting the various cultures which have contributed to the incomparable civilisation of the Inland Sea.

“The programme includes old Italian madrigals, songs of the Greek Islands, a sixteenth century Spanish ballad of the Moorish wars, Turkish dances of the Ottoman Empire, songs of the exiled Sephardi Jews and a wild South Italian tarantella.

“Alessandra’s unforgettable voice is accompanied by Robin on a fascinating collection of instruments, including the Renaissance lute and Baroque guitar, the Spanish guitar, the Greek laouto and Turkish oud, and a powerful little strummed guitar from Sicily.

“However damp the English weather turns out to be, you are guaranteed to feel the sunshine!”
