Lewes Concert Orchestra cancels event over coronavirus concerns

Lewes Concert Orchestra has decided to cancel its concert on Friday, March 27, due to concerns over the coronavirus.

The event was supposed to take place at the TRINITY Centre, St John sub Castro, Abinger Place, Lewes.

The programme would have featured Leonard Bernstein’s Candide Overture and West Side Story (suite of dances), as well as Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring and Charles Ives’ Variations on ‘America’.

A spokesperson for the orchestra said: “Sadly we have taken the decision to cancel our concert due to the escalating situation with regards to the COVID-19 virus.”
